Chesapeake & Ohio Canal Association
Variant namesThe 184-mile Chesapeake and Ohio Canal operated 1850-1925 and is now operated as a national historic park by the National Park Service. Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas used his influence to prevent the destruction of the canal.
