Lonergan, Bernard J. F.
Jesuit philosopher, theologian and author.
Lonergan was born in Canada in 1904, entered the Society of Jesus in 1922 and was ordained a priest in 1936. He wrote numerous articles and books including INSIGHT and METHOD IN THEOLOGY. Lonergan taught at several universities before coming to Boston College, where he taught from 1975 until his retirement in 1983. He died in 1984.
