Lemmon, Joseph, 1692-1750
Joseph Lemmon (1692-1750) was the son of Joseph Lemmon (1662-1709), of Charlestown, Mass., and Mary Bradley Lemmon ( - ), and the husband of Elizabeth Phillips (1692-1784). He lived in Charlestown as a wealthy merchant and extensive landowner, and held the offices of town treasurer, and justice of the peace for Middlesex County. Two of his children were Joseph (1715-1772) and Mary (1717-1798), who married, in 1736, Joseph Lynde (1702-1788), of Charlestown, also a noted merchant and landowner.
