Francis, Dale

Journalist who was director of Publications and Development at St. Edward's University from 1957 to 1959. In 1958 he founded and edited the Lone Star Catholic (published initially from St. Edward's), which later became the Lone Star Register and eventually the Texas Catholic Herald. A devout Catholic, he was formerly director of the University of Notre Dame Press and director of the Bureau of Information, National Catholic Welfare Conference. He was also a contributer to Commonweal, Marionist, Our Sunday Visitor and other Catholic periodicals.
