Van Antwerp, Verplanck, -1875
Variant namesAppointed land receiver for the northern district in Iowa in 1846, newspaper editor, and served during the Civil War as a major on the staff of Gen. Samuel Curtis. His son in law was Oregon Senator George H. Williams.
