Representatives from 225 colleges meeting at a conference in Chicago, Illinois, November 13-14, 1921, authorized the formation of a national organization, the National Student Committee for the Limitation of Armaments. Its purpose was to stimulate interest among college students in the issue of international disarmament. The Committee's office was located in New York City.
