Strauss, Bruno
Bruno Strauss was a historian and philologist who lived from 1889-1969. He was raised in Marburg and studied there and in Berlin. From 1912-1938 he taught at the University of Berlin, but was forced to flee to Shreveport, Louisiana, United States, in 1939. He immediately gained employment at Centenary College in Shreveport, and taught history and German there until 1964.
