Schaus, Richard, 1910-1980.
Arizona writer, photographer and editor.
Richard George Schaus was born in Wisconsin in 1910. Following service in the Air Force during World War II, Schaus took a photography course at Columbia University and then opened a photo shop in Phoenix, Arizona. He was hired by Abbie Keith to take photographs for the Arizona Cattlelog, the monthly magazine of the Arizona Cattle Growers' Association. He was soon writing articles as well. In 1962 he became editor of the magazine, retiring from that position in 1975, though he continued to contribute articles. He died in 1981.
