Čhit Phūmisak.
Variant namesThai author, historian, and poet. In 1953 he was hired by the U.S. embassy to assist linguist William J. Gedney in translating "The Communist Manifesto" into Thai. Branded a Communist, Čhit Phūmisak was arrested in 1957; after six years he was declared innocent and set free.
