Čhit Phūmisak.
Thai author, historian, and poet. In 1953 he was hired by the U.S. embassy to assist linguist William J. Gedney in translating "The Communist Manifesto" into Thai. Branded a Communist, Čhit Phūmisak was arrested in 1957; after six years he was declared innocent and set free.
