Mariners' Presbyterian Church was established in 1819 by Joseph Eastburn (1748-1828), though the church was not formally organized by the Presbytery of Philadelphia until 1830. In 1965, Mariners' merged with the Third and Scots Presbyterian Church; the resulting Third, Scots and Mariners' Presbyterian Church, better known as Old Pine Street Church, still stands at 412 Pine Street.
