Physician, of Pennsylvania and New Jersey; born in Philadelphia in 1750; was graduated from the University of Edinburgh; lived at Bristol, Pennsylvania, beginning ca. 1773 and later lived at Philadelphia; removed to Burlington, Burlington County, New Jersey, following the Philadelphia yellow fever outbreak of 1793; practiced in partnership (as McIlvaine ? died in Burlington in 1806.
