In her first year, 1920-1921, she studied History and Geology. The following year, 1921-1922, she studied French, English, Sottish History and Literature. The following year, 1920-1921, she studied Moral Philosophy, Geology and English. In her third and final year, 1921-1922, she studied English, Scottish History and Moral Philosophy. Janet McFarlane graduated MA in 1922 .
