Annie Beaton McFarlane was born in c.1902 . Her father was a butcher. She entered the University of Glasgow aged 18 and was an arts student from 1920-1923 . In her first year, 1920-1921, she studied History and Geology. The following year, 1921-1922, she studied French, English, Sottish History and Literature.
