Saco Rienk DeBoer was a city planner and landscape architect. He was born on Sept. 7, 1883 in Ureterp, Friesland, Netherlands. DeBoer came to the U.S. in 1908, moved to Denver, Colo. in 1910, and was naturalized as a citizen in 1914. He had a long career with the City of Denver, Colo. as a landscape architect, planning engineer, and park consultant. He also served as planning consultant for many local, state, and federal projects in the Western U.S. DeBoer died on Aug. 16, 1974 in Denver, Colo.
