The International Refugee Organization (IRO) was a non-permanent United Nations specialized agency established in 1948 to deal with the protection, transportation, repatriation, resettlement, and other needs of refugees and displaced persons of World War II. The IRO closed in 1952, and liquidation was completed in 1953.
