Robert Dudley, the celebrated favorite of Elizabeth I. In 1564 the Queen created him the Earl of Leicester and proposed as a husband to Mary Queen of Scots. Robert Cooke was appointed Chester Herald to the College of Arms, through the Earl's influence.
