The Dean of Admissions and Records at the time this collection was made was Erlend D. Peterson. Since this collection was made, the Brigham Young University Admissions and Records Office has been divided into two separate divisions: the Student Academic and Advisement Services (formerly Admissions) and Registrar and Records/Registration (formerly Records). The Dean of the Student Academic and Advisement Services (SAAS) is Ford L. Stevenson, and the Director of Registrar and Records/Registration is Gene F. Priday.

Student Academic and Advisement Services (2001- ) offers enrollment services to student on Brigham Young University campus.

Student Academic and Advisement Services was created in 2001 at the termination of the Admissions and Records division. Leaders over the organization have included Dean Ford Stevenson (2001-2007) and executive director Norman Finlinson (2007- ). The organization provides assistance to students in areas of financial aid, housing, locker rentals, meal plans, parking, bus passes, health plans, scholarships, registration, employment, deferment, personal records, and the BYU signature card.

Admissions and Records Office (1956-2001) provided services regarding enrollment for students on campus.

The Admissions and Records Office foremost determined student acceptance into the university, including registration, enrollment, and deferment concerns. The organization also provided services regarding the appeals processes, grade reports, commencement planning and execution, and review of scholarship applications. The responsibilities of the office were divided into eleven supervised areas. These included the Admissions Adviser Program, High School & Junior College Relations, Financial Aids, Admissions Office, Registrar, Evaluation-Transfer and Graduation, Data Collection and Analysis, Microfilm Services, Academic Advisement, and cooperating with the Educational Information and Guidance Center. The organization was under the direction of these deans: Bliss H. Crandal (1956-1959), Alma P. Burton (1959-1964), William R. Siddoway (1964-1972), Robert W. Spencer (1974-1991), Erlend D. Peterson (1992-2001).

The Office of Admissions and Records was renamed Student Academic and Advisement Services in 2001.

The Student Academic and Advisement Services at Brigham Young University was established around 2002, and was previously known as Admissions and Records. Its functions include academic advisement, which prior to the 1970s was part of the University Advisement and Evaluation Office. The director of academic advisement coordinated advisement activities between the college advisement centers and the University Advisement Center.

The Admissions and Records Office at Brigham Young University included various services, including admissions, financial aid, advisement, and student records. Its services were continued by the Student Academic and Advisement Services in 2002.

The International Vice President's Office was established in 2001 to coordinate and communicate Brigham Young University's international activities, facilitate and leverage efficient use of university resources, and strategically focus attention on priorities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The International Vice President's Office partners with faculty, colleges, the Church, and others. It has responsibility for the following: Ambassadorial Visits Program, College of Continuing Education, David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies, International Diplomatic Scholarships, Performing Arts Management, and Special International Projects.

The Office of Admissions and Records (1956-2001) was an administrative office at Brigham Young University.

The Office of Admissions and Records was established in 1956 and was designed to help students from their first inquiry about Brigham Young University (BYU). The office also worked with faculty, parents, BYU administration and agencies that require information about student records. The responsibility of the office is divided into eleven supervised areas. Admissions and Records was under the direction of a dean and administered regularly over the Admissions Office, Records Office, and Registrars. Over some periods it also was over the Admissions Advisers Program, the Coordinator of Financial Aids, and the Statistics and Veterans officer. The office of Admissions and Records was under the direction of these deans: Bliss H. Crandal (1956-1959), Alma P. Burton (1959-1964), William R. Siddoway (1964-1972), Robert W. Spencer (1974-1991), Erlend D. Peterson (1992-2001).

The Office of Admissions and Records was renamed Student Academic and Advisement Services in 2001. At that time, admissions records for international students were transferred to the newly created International Vice President's Office.
