Albany Committee of Correspondence (N.Y.)
Variant namesLocal New York committee formed under the general advice of the Continental Congress of Sept., 1774.
Composed of elected representatives from the county and city of Albany, the committee acted during the Revolutionary War to raise and support troops, detect and prosecute disloyal citizens, and ensure the functioning of local government.
