Samuel Prottas (1899-1977) was a prominent member of the Jewish community in Seattle, Washington. As one of five children born to Sol Prottas and Jennie Levitt, Samuel and his brother George continued to operate the successful family furniture business, Prottas and Levitt, through 1966. Samuel attended the University of Washington and was an active member of the Menorah Society on campus. Throughout his life, Samuel carried on his father's interest in Jewish community affairs, playing an active role in the Bikur Cholim-Machzikay Hadath synagogue in Seattle, B'nai B'rith, a Jewish charitable organization, the Talmud Torah Hebrew School, and the Zionist Organization of America.
