Throughout his life, Samuel carried on his father's interest in Jewish community affairs, playing an active role in the Bikur Cholim-Machzikay Hadath synagogue in Seattle, B'nai B'rith, a Jewish charitable organization, the Talmud Torah Hebrew School, and the Zionist Organization of America.
