Paul Casanova Garcia was born in San Antonio, Texas, on 1952 March 7 to parents Paul Rodriguez (1924- ) and Concepcion Casanova (1927-1994) Garcia. He is a member of numerous genealogical organizations, including the Sons of the Republic of Texas, Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Confederate Veterans, San Jacinto Descendants, Canary Islands Descendants Association, Siege of Bexar Descendants, Association des Seguin d’ Amerique (Quebec), and Sons of Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. He is also a member of the San Antonio Living History Association and the Alamo Legacy and Missions Association. As a Texas living history re-enactor, Garcia has been involved in several made-for-television movies, including James A. Michener’s Texas, the A&E production Alamo, the Discovery Channel’s film The Alamo, the PBS documentary The U.S.-Mexican War, and the Ted Turner movie Two for Texas .
Garcia married Nancy Paulette Johnson in 1982; the couple has one daughter.
