Robert E. Herzstein was chairman of the trade subcommittee of the Mexico-U.S. Business Committee.

Herzstein is senior partner at the law firm of Miller & Chevalier in Washington, DC. He was lead counsel to Mexico in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) negotiations and served as Under Secretary for International Trade in the U.S. Department of Commerce. Herzstein has served as a director of the Council of the Americas, on the executive board of the American Society of International Law, and as chairman of the International Law Institute and the International Human Rights Law Group. He is a graduate of the Harvard School of Law, and was a partner with the law firms of Arnold & Porter and Shearman & Sterling.
