The Kiwanis Club of Denver was the first club of the Rocky Mountain District. Founded through the efforts of Robert J. Williams on May 9, 1918 it is a non-profit service organization. The Kiwanis promotes programs for children and youth, both through initiatives intended to improve the quality of life of children around the world, and through service leadership programs. Its affiliated parent organization is Kiwanis International, Indianapolis, Ind.
