Spaight, Richard Dobbs, 1758-1802
Variant namesSpaight was a delegate to the U.S. Contential Congress, 1782-1785, from North Carolina, as well as the U.S. Constitutional Convention, 1787, and signator to the U.S. Constitution. He was Governor of North Carolina, 1792-1795, held other public offices in the North Carolina and was in the U.S. House of Representatives, 1798-1801.
