English author George Dyer was born and raised in London, and educated at Cambridge. While working as a tutor, he starting composing political pamphlets, and became known for his sensible and compassionate approach to social issues. Gradually moving away from activism, he concentrated on poetry, editorship, and scholarly pursuits, and continued to interact with friends in the London literary circle. In addition to his pamphlets and poetry, Dyer is remembered for his colorful personality and eccentric behavior.
