Illinois Bicentennial Commission
The Illinois Bicentennial Commission was in existence from July 1972 to March 1977. Formed to provide support and services to local and county bicentennial commissions to celebrate the nation's 200th birthday, the state commission operated out of three regional offices: Northern (which was also the head office); Central; and Southern.
The I.B.C. allocated state and federal grant funds to local organizations and oversaw statewide programs.
