Richard Hartshorne (1888-1975) became a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in1951. He was also New Jersy State Department Commander of The American Legion, member of Sons of the American Revolution, Special Assistant to U.S. Attorney, District of New Jersey (1925), Judge of County Court, Newark, New Jersey (1931-1951), and President of New Jersey Interstate Commission on Crime (1935-1943).
