John Milton Holley (1777-1836), known as Milton, and his younger brother, Myron Holley (1779-1841), were born in Salisbury, Conn. Both received an education at Williams College: Milton did not graduate, leaving the college to help his father in his merchant's business, while Myron received his degree in 1799.
