Mary Pcolar, her husband George Pcolar, and their children lived near Edmund Wilson's home in Talcottville, New York. During the 1960s until his death in 1972, Pcolar maintained a friendship with Wilson, assisted him in learning Hungarian, and worked for him as a secretary and driver. Pcolar later married Bernard E. Kirley and settled in Florida, where she died in 1982.
