Long, John D., 1874-1949
John D. Long (1874-1949) began work with the United State Public Health Service in April 1900, stationed in Washington, D.C., and did not retire until ca. 1945. In the 1920s Long was in charge of the Division of Foreign and Insular Quarantine and Immigration, and also later worked as Medical Director of the Pan American Sanitary Bureau.
