Chandler, Samuel, 1713-1775
Samuel Chandler (1713-1775) of Gloucester, Mass. was a clergyman who in 1755 was chaplain of a regiment commanded by Col. Ichabod Plaisted (1700-1762) of Salem, Mass. This regiment took part in the Crown Point expedition at the beginning of the French and Indian War.

Samuel Chandler graduated Harvard College in 1735. He was minister at the Second Church, York, Me., 1742-1751, and at the First Church, Gloucester, Mass., 1751-1775.
