The Office of University Relations is currently called the Office of Public Affairs and University Relations (PAUR). It serves members of the Brown community, news media, alumni, prospective students, parents and the general public. The PAUR team includes staff who work in media relations, news, communications and pubicity; web site design, photographic services, multimedia production, community outreach, government relations, and the publication of the Brown Alumni Magazine .

PAUR includes the Office of Government Relations and Community Affairs (GRCA), which "promotes interactions and communications on behalf of Brown with government at the local, city, state, and federal levels. GRCA advocates on behalf of students, faculty, and staff through direct contacts with elected officials and through involvement with statewide and nationwide educational organizations." This office also acts as a liasion between Brown and the surrounding community.
