Seigneur, seigneurial judge, and councillor in the Conseil Souverain of New France.

La Martinière came to Canada in 1662, where he assumed ownership of the vast seigneury of Lauson through his marriage to Anne Després. He held various legal positions on the Conseils of the colonial government, aggressively investigating illegal fur trade activities and grain monopolies, and in 1714, was appointed subdelegate to the intendant, Jacques Raudot (1646?-1728). He died in Québec on April 14, 1719.
