Dr. David Finney came to NYU in 1985. His first role at NYU was as Director of Admissions, and in 1994 he became Vice President for Enrollment Services and Planning. He was involved in the implementation of new technologies for registration and financial aid and in the growth in quality of freshman. In August 1999 he became the Dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Dr. Finney earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Westminster College, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts in higher education from Bowling Green State University. He holds a Master of Science and a doctorate in adult education, from Teachers College, Columbia University. He is also the author of a financial aid guidebook for adult re-entry students.
