Brown University. Religious Society.
An organization of students and faculty, the Religious Society was established at Brown University in 1821, the successor to the Praying Society, after a religious revival in Providence. The Praying Society was established in 1802.
Weekly meetings were held in the university chapel and occasional public meetings were held in the First Baptist Church in Providence.
