Danish immigrants.

Henry Matthew Sonnichsen, son of Momme-Melf and Jette Sonnichsen, was born in Denmark in 1873 and came to America with his family. The Sonnichsens moved from New York to Iowa where they settled, and Henry met and married Mary Hults, daughter of Sam Hults and Nancy Jane Clifton Hults. Henry and Mary's first son, Charles Leland, was born in Iowa in 1901. After the Sonnichsens moved to Hancock, Minnesota, they had two more boys, Lloyd (b. 1903), and Harold M. (b. 1912). In 1916, the family moved to Wadena, Minnesota, where Lloyd died of a gunshot wound in 1917. Henry and Mary moved to El Paso, Texas, around 1950 to be near their son, Charles Leland, who died in 1991. Henry died in 1954, but Mary lived until 1971. Harold is still working and living with his family in Massachusetts.
