As both professor and administrator, Chamberlain was a prominent educator, most notably at Throop Polytechnic Institute (now Calif. Institute of Technology). In addition, he held a variety of related posts, including treasurer of the National Education Association, 1907-1910, and editor of Sierra Educational News, 1912-1928. He also collaborated with his brother and fellow educator, James Franklin Chamberlain, on several works.
