Hanson, Kermit O.

Kermit O. Hanson served as a professor of business administration and administrator at the University of Washington for many years.

A native of Iowa, Hanson received both of his advanced degrees in economics from Iowa State University. He held positions with the Federal Land Bank of Omaha and with the Veterans Administration in Seattle before his appointment to the University of Washington faculty in 1948. Hanson later served as chairman of the department of accounting, finance and statistics (1955-1960), associate dean of the College of Business Administration (1959-1964) and dean of the School and Graduate School of Business Administration (1964-1981). In 1982, he was appointed to the rank of dean and professor emeritus. Hanson also acted as educational director of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington from 1953 to 1981 and founded the Pacific Rim Bankers Program in 1977.
