Chartered in 1954, the Glove Cities Area Joint Board of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America (ACWA) with jurisdiction over clothing workers in Gloversville and Johnstown, N.Y.

The Capital District Joint Board, ACWA, was chartered in 1934 in Troy, N.Y., with jurisdiction over locals in Albany, Schenectady, and Rensselaer counties. These joint boards became a part of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union with the merger of ACWA and the Textile Workers Union of America in 1976. The Capital District Joint Board merged into the Glove Cities Area Joint Board in 1985.
