Jesuit, professor, and military chaplain.
Geary, born in South Boston in 1905, entered the Society of Jesus in 1925. He earned a B.A. (1931) and M.A. (1932) from Boston College. Geary was ordained at Weston College (1937). He became a professor at Boston College in 1941. Geary was a chaplain in the United States Army (1944-1946); as such, he was assigned to Camp Croft, South Carolina, and to the 115th Station Hospital in Europe. Geary saw duty in England, France, Belgium, and Germany and earned the rank of Captain. After World War II, he returned to Boston College as a history professor and Regent of the School of Nursing. He retired from teaching in 1970. Geary died in 1980.
