Charles Hunter Gerhardt (1895-1976) was born in Lebanon, Tennessee, the son of Brigadier General Charles Gerhardt, served in the United States Army in both World War I and World War II. He was the Commanding General of the 29th U.S. Infantry Division from 1943 to 1946.
