Following the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, The Committee of Liaison with Families of Servicemen Detained in North Vietnam built a coalition organization called Friendshipment to coordinate shipments of medical supplies and agricultural equipment to the Vietnamese Red Cross. (Cf. Mary Hershberger, Traveling to Vietnam). The coalition involved approximately 36 religious, political, and community organizations. The Bach Mai Hospital Relief Fund supported the Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi. Cora Weiss was the coordinator of Friendshipment.
