McGehee, J. Burruss (John Burruss), 1836-1913
Variant namesJ. Burruss McGehee was a plantation owner in West Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, and Wilkinson County, Mississippi. His father, Edward McGehee, settled in Mississippi in the early 19th century, was president of the West Feliciana Railroad Co., and operated a cotton factory in Woodville, Mississippi. John's son was James Stewart McGehee, a planter and businessman.
