University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Faculty Council. Advisory Committee on Undergraduate Admissions.

Hide Profile

The Advisory Committee on Undergraduate Admissions is a standing committee of the university's faculty. Its membership is ex officio, with the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences serving as chair. It sets policies and procedures (not inconsistent with those set by the Board of Trustees and faculty legislation) for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The committee was constituted in its present form in 1972. Previous faculty committees, however, also dealt with admissions policy. Chief among these was the Advisory Committee on Admissions and Records, which existed from the mid-1930s until 1972. Records of that committee are included here.
