West, Phillip, 1946-
Phillip West was born in 1946 in Adams County, Mississippi. He attended Broomfield Elementary School and Sadie V. Thompson School, as well as three years at Alcorn State University. After serving two months in the Army, he worked at the Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company in Natchez. He was elected vice president for the state and president of the Adams County NAACP. In 1979, he became the supervisor of Adams County's Beat Four.
