Tapia Zenteno, Carlos de.

Born in Mexico City, he studied theology and canon law at the Seminario Tridentino, where he also mastered the Nahuatl and Huastec languages. He served as priest and ecclesiastical judge in Tampamolón, and later became professor of languages at both the University of Mexico and the Seminary.
