Hide Profile

Eleanor Eyre Hunt was born in 1844 to William (1797-1867) and Mary (McCord) Hunt, the sixth of eleven siblings. According to U.S. census data, William Hunt was a farmer, who owned a home and land in Moorefield (near Springfield), until his death in 1867, when his eldest son, William, became head of household. Eleanor, also called variously "Ella," "Ellen," "Ellie," and "Nellie" in her autograph album, remained at the house until her death in 1926.
