Professor of Classical Languages and Literatures, Elmira College. Hansen graduated from Vassar College in 1921, received an A.M. from the University of Wisconsin in 1922, and a Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1930. Her publications included THE ATTALIDS OF PERGAMON, published in 1947, and her articles on ancient history and archaeology in Memoirs of the American Academy in Rome and the American Journal of Archaeology.
