Victoria Booth Demarest (1889- ) was born into a family of evangelists: she was the granddaughter of William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, and the daughter of Catherine Booth-Clibborn, who established the Salvation Army in France. Demarest led religious revivals in the U.S. and Canada with her husband as manager and accompanist, inaugurated the "America for God Crusade" in 1934, preached to women on love, marriage and motherhood, founded the World Association of Mothers for Peace in 1946, and was ordained a minister of the Congregational Church in 1949. She was a musician and author of religious dramas and homilies.
